Southside Paddlers Western adventures

A small crew of Southside Paddlers headed over to the Western front, West Lakes, South Australia, some by car (Steve and Luke, Alan and Emma ) and some by air, Brian, Arnold and Michael)

Firstly a big thank you to Alan and Emma for towing the NSWIS trailer and all the boats over and back, I am sure at one stage with the weather reports and flooding in NSW that Alan and Emma were thinking they may have to paddle back home! To Alan, thank you for taking the red k2 for both Emma and partners and Luke and Arnold, and for organising the accomodation.

On to the races,

Emma competed for the first time in the Open women’s, so to make finals and place is an outstanding result, well done Emma.

Arnold and Luke competed in the u/18’s in the k1 and k2 events and raced together for the first time on a ‘formal’ course in the sprints, making all the A finals in the K2 is a great indicator for the future for these two young men who are only new to the sport of sprint kaya
