Southside Sprinters headed to Penrith on the weekend for the Oceania Champs. The conditions were a bit wet….but that didn’t dampen the spirits of the Busters. The course was apparently a bit weedy and played havoc with a rudder or two.
Congratulations to Alex True on her 3rd placing in the k1 500 16yrs , a great effort. Nick Dawe made the A final of the mens open 200, which has to provide him with a lot of confidence for his paddling future. Michael Hagan was just off the medal dias in the k1 200 16yrs. Every race Michael is improving, which is great to see. Mitchell is very new to the sport and his times are looking good, and Arnold had a bit of bad luck with the weed in the 1000, but otherwise had a good weekend crewing in a k4 open mens team and racing in the 200. The National champs are in 2 weeks time and we should see some improvements from all our members and hopefully in the weather as well 🙂
