Paddle for LIfe 2013

PADDLE FOR LIFE 2013

Each year the Far North Coast Canoe Club hosts a charity event called the Paddle for Life.  This is a fundraising paddle from Lismore to Ballina down the Wilson and Richmond Rivers and takes place over three days.  This year the paddle is being held from Saturday 13 April to Monday 15 April, 2013.  The total distance is about 95 km.

All meals are supplied to paddlers as part of the registration cost, and additional meals can be purchased for supporters.  There is provision for camping out on Saturday night (at Coraki) and Sunday night (at Broadwater), with guaranteed fun for all.  Paddlers can take part in all three days, or less if they choose.  On Saturday, you may like to take part in the “Paddle for Life Classic”, a 39 km race.

The charities benefiting from the event are Summerland Early Intervention and Southern Cross LADS.  The cost of entry per paddler is $45 per day for Saturday and Sunday and $30 for Monday (plus a one-off $10 cost for insurance if not a member of PaddleNSW).  Each paddler is also asked to contribute to the charities by selling $100 worth of raffle tickets or, alternatively, making a tax-deductible donation (Paddle for Life is a registered charity for tax deductibility purposes with ATO).

Full details of the event, including on-line registrations, details of the course and general information for entrants can be found at the Paddle for Life website – <http://www.paddleforlife.org.au> – or email for further information – info@paddleforlife.org.au.
